Dunkin' Donuts the Beginning
In 1948, a doughnut restaurant was opened by Bill Rosenberg, and changed its name from "Open Kettle" to Dunkin' Donuts. This was labeled the first Dunkin' Donuts restaurant in the world. This restaurant is still located in Quincy, Massachusetts and is open 24 hours a day. People visit this landmark to enjoy the retro, and modern look. People also visit the original Dunkin' Donuts to celebrate the history of the company. |
In 1953, Dunkin' Donuts introduced their first logo. Dunkin' Donuts started their business color schemes with red writing and a white background. The font was in a difficult to read cursive font. It was legible but was not the best style option to choose for a logo. |
In 1954, Dunkin' introduced their first mascot, "Dunkie." It looks like an animated character made from dough. The middle of "Dunkie's" body is a yellow tea cup with the Dunkin' Donuts logo that was introduced in 1953. "Dunkie" is holding a pan full of doughnuts. "Dunkie" is winking and has a chef hat on top of its head. This mascot is showing the color pattern of Dunkin' Donuts is yellow and red at this time. |
